Only one city made the Top 5 in all four major US pro sports

I don't think it's fair to judge loyalty entirely on ticket sales. Here in New York it's going to cost you a small fortune to take your family out to Yankee Stadium for an afternoon. Figure $50/ticket for pretty bad seats, $20 to park your car, $9/beer, $5 hot dog...

I'm loyal to my teams on my couch in front of my 50 inch and crystal clear HD!

Hahaha.
Fair enough; equally guilty too.
Love watching from home but not sure I can even hit double digits in the total number of professional games attended in my entire life?
That's not to mention while this is totally embarrassing to admit to, never been to a Celts game, but going to a Sixers game in a couple weeks.

I always associate the most loyal fan moniker with fans that suffer...suffer through years of bad outcomes and still come and watch and cheer. Under this definition, fans of the Cubs or Indians or Redskins would qualify. The Bosox used to qualify but no longer.

Don't forget the Pirates, possibly moreso than the Cubs: at least the Cubs have contended recently.

It's cubbies all the way. I was born in Chicago and my great aunt took me to cubs games on Wednesdays which was "ladies day", 1/2 off on seats, kids were free.

I can still hear the way she pronounced "Raan Saaanto" in that hard chicago accent.... If we won, she'd say "we finally gaat one..."

The fans are resigned to the fact that the ownership makes a healthy profit every year by selling out every home game, owning the radio stations, and by letting their most talented players walk away to other teams for the big contracts.

Still they show up and cheer, get drunk and party in Wrigleyville. One cousin explained to me that the Cubbies were about da love, da bulls and da bears and da hawks were about da wins....

Chi-town area has hands down the best sports bars anywhere.

that said, I had to admit I was most impressed in 1975 when I went to a Phillies game w/ some of the Vesper guys and the Phillies fans actually booed
Mike Schmidt... It was one of his MVP years, I think.

as a sort of blue collar town, the fans want their teams and athletes to put out the effort and produce... schmidt could get booed and receive a standing ovation in the same game... dick allen, even carlton have received similar treatment back in the 70s

San Jose sharks in hockey??? A couple of bad seasons and they'd have trouble getting 1000 people to a game and the hospitals would be full of inuries accrued leaping off bandwagons. There are no hockey fans anywhere like the Leafs' fans. No cup since '67, sold out every game. Only equivalent really is the Cubs in baseball.

No such thing as a "loyal fan" in California. Cali fans are all front-runners.

Seattle and Portland fans stick to their teams very well, but the hats and jerseys around here change every year according to who won the previous championship.

Sad to say that most people are going to jump off the Celtics bandwagon after this season ends...back in 2006 it was normal around here for people to not pay much attention to the Celtics, however, winning a championship did do some magic....also - since when is New England a city??? 8)

True Boston fans will stick around, the tickets will hopefully be cheaper. It was only a few sort years ago they were having half time shows of like the "New Kids on the Block " to stay thru the half -

Philly fans may show it in their own unique way, but I have yet to encounter a city as a whole that is so into their sports. Boston fans too, though the Red Sawks nation had become pretty insufferable in the few years after that first title run.
