David Huntington gets the board seat.

Another 1 vote margin of victory. That is two in a row. What are the chances?

I'd prefer ranked-choice voting, personally, and getting to 50%+ for a win.

David will do a good job, seems to be at a career point where he can put real time into it, re committees, race attendance, meaningful interaction with constituencies.

Will be interesting to see the CEO pick, guessing that will be pretty soon.

121 eligible votes returned out of 275. David received 47 votes, and Gary received 46 votes. Apparently rowing clubs are not a politically active constituency. Why not allow individual members to vote? At least people would feel like they were getting a bit more for their membership dues.

I feel like they should publish the list of orgs that voted & those that did not.
Less than 50% of organizations voting for their rep is appalling.

There is nothing wrong with having a representative vote (ie the orgs should reflect their members desires) vs individual members voting - unless clubs are gerrymandering

44% turnout is actually a really strong response. I bet this election turnout is a lot higher than other past regional elections.

A lot of university members likely had little interest in the election.

The last election which Feldman won handily there were 129 votes. Caldwell’s votes came primarily from the college ranks, unfortunately for him there are a significant number of colleges who aren’t currently eligible to vote. That diluted his turnout. All credit to Huntington and his supporters. They found a cross section of support and won the day. Good on him. Now let’s see if he can help bring transparency to the Board and USROWING in general, something that’s currently lacking.

Hearing the job is likely going to a very remarkable female single sculler.
