25 Season
Re: 25 Season
Congrats to all the teams! Stanford has been dominant all year. Yale had a great day, winning V8 and 2nd overall.I noticed they awarded the 4th place team overall this year.
Re: 25 Season
Yale was great in all that slop compared to the others. Well done Will and 1V8

Yellow has faded a bit from their peak. Lots of variables there.
More interesting is the almost complete lack.of Filippi hulls in NCAA women's rowing. What gives there?

Re: 25 Season
I really can't get over Yale winning the 1V. Quite frankly, I didn't think we would see an Ivy win that event any time soon given the way Stanford, Texas, Tennessee can amass peak talent. Yale has had great depth and rowed great for a few years now, but seemed to be unable to sort/find the peak speed.
They rowed by far the cleanest in that final, but showed the peak speed across every round as well

Re: 25 Season
I agree that was an impressive row from start to finish by the Yale V8.

Re: 25 Season
Peak talent for Yale includes two Olympians (one silver W8+) and one national teamer who didn't qualify for Paris (all non-US). I'd be surprised if Stanford, Texas, and Tennessee combined had three athletes who took '23-'24 off to train for Paris. (Does anyone know?)
Great work from Yale to climb the hill. Since 2021, their 1V finishes have been DNQ, 8th, 6th, 12th, and now 1st.

Stanford’s seven-seat took last year off and raced in the SUI W4x in Paris. The six-seat delayed enrollment and was one of the last to be cut from the AUS sweep squad.fullmetal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 12:54 pm Peak talent for Yale includes two Olympians (one silver W8+) and one national teamer who didn't qualify for Paris (all non-US). Taking a look at the how much has changed (and stayed the same) over the last fifteen NCAA championships. Since 2010, seven different teams have won the varsity eight and eleven have placed in the top three.

Not as sure on this roster, but Texas has been having women finish NCAAs and basically immediately join senior squads for a few years - Kate Knifton, Anna Jensen, Etta Carpenter off the top of my head in yhe US.okayrower wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 1:28 pmStanford’s seven-seat took last year off and raced in the SUI W4x in Paris. To FullMetals point, they have been building for a minute (I wasn't aware of the Olympians but math adds up there). I've loved their rowing for a few years. I remember bumping into JD when he was at Oak Ridgea few years back and he was raving about their boat skill.
