Why are the tariffs so high on Chinese brands of hulls ?

Given all the ballon nonsense I am not sure why people are buying Chinese manufactured boats…lol

Currently the following companies have boats produced in China

Wintech , distribution only as Row America is no more as Winklevoss has sold off the clubs, the repair shop and manufacturing. Oysters is a better business it appears. Wintech has their brand produced out of the Flying eagle plant.

Swift

Kanghua

Liang jin ( not sure on spelling)

Falcon

Pei She not sure on this

Sykes / Resolute - I don’t know if the Resolute brand is but definitely some of the Sykes models . The Resolute did undergo an overhaul in manufacturing when it was “slimmed down “ in materials to get a better price point. Not sure if this has been corrected as the boat was not the same when Fabio ( now Filippi) took over from Rowers Choice and now under “new management” for the third time in as many years. . Though you can get your USA sticker put on the boat in AUS.

Last I read, the Sykes racing boats were Auzzie built. The more rec sculling boats were Chinese with Auzzie fittings.
