Looks like Columbia got Yale by 2 inches .

Cornell takes out Princeton as well. So, the 1st and 2nd ranked teams get taken out by the 8th and 7th ranked teams. Got to love the uncertainty of the lightweight league, this would never happen on the heavyweight side.

Is it the inherent uncertainty of the category, or the sloppiness of the ranking in such a small sample set, both in number of teams and depth within those squads? Are lightweights essentially "unrankable" until end of April?

On the heavy side, there are a lot more data points.

D) All of the above.

I don’t even know why the lightweights have rankings during the regular season. Just seed them for Sprints and let it roll; then use the results from Sprints as your seeding for IRAs.

Ahhhhh but did they beat them on the water, or in the alphabet? Context matters in this ranking.
