But that is not what happened. Instead they realized they were going to lose a Title IX lawsuit because they cut women's sports and didn't meet the other two criteria for compliance. So they did a quick and complete about face, rather than just a partial about face of reinstating the women's sports only. I am guessing their logic is that the AD f**ked up so royally last time, we'd better undo the whole thing instead of a partial undo only to find out he f***ed up something else.

While this is good news, it is not great news because:
- The big guns might still recommend cutting men's sports in May of 2022
- The NCAA and IRA debacle could put all of lightweight rowing in the sh*tter (as has happened at the junior and Olympic levels)
- Their recruiting for this year is probably at a fizzle, and I don't see it finding firm footing until that May 2022 picture emerges.
- What about coaching? Do they have any - their website doesn't have a link for lightweight coaches

I hope Dartmouth Lightweight rowing is back for good and the program returns to be competitive with the other top lightweight programs. But as the situation currently stands it is hard to say this is great.
This is informative, thanks str8four. It's also, as you suggest, concerning for the long-term future.
