Mental note: make sure to check the screws on the collars on brand new oars. Even though these use a quick release as well, there's still a screw on the other side that helps set the tightness. Dang near flipped a double this morning when I was at the catch and my oar decided it wanted to just keep going out on the collar.

But aside from that minor hiccup of attention, overall I do like these Bolts I think, and I'm not just saying that because they're new and shiny. I feel like they're a bit easier to get a good catch with, and strangely they're easier to finish on the quarter feather with. Harder to row square bade with IMHO.

You will absolutely see them in Paris, unlike the Comps which will probably disappear. Hearing the sweep blades are even better. Look for some single scullers turning up with them, some are testing right now.
What is it about the comps that’ll make them disappear? I was surprised over the last few years that unlike the Dreher apex R and even the fat2 they seem to have established themselves at the world/olympic level (albeit stil in a minority).

I use Croker arrows but I’d loved a set of dreher R’s a good few years back but struggled with the rigging of them and switch to a more conventional shape, so I thought the concepts comp’s would be good to try (finding it tricky to trial a set), but now these updated crokers look interesting!

Any comparisons between the comp and the bolt?

Comps and Bolts are apples and oranges. Sinkovic bros LOVED the Bolts from the first stroke and never looked back (the sculls that is).

Any insight on the sweep side? IIRC they were using bolts then ended up with smoothies for Oly. Not sure if that was just the short prep time and "go with what you know"?

There is a slightly smaller “ Bolt “ launching in the states this spring, likely preferable to athletes with not as much power.

They were dealing some technical issues (believe it or not, they work on tech EVERY DAY still) they went back to the Arrow and then stuck with it.

From my experience this past spring running two eights on Bolts I’d say the difference over 2k is about one length in the M8. Telemetry supports that as well.

Croker produces a blade that is superior in quality, durability, and performance.

They must be. They are being marketed like drugs. There is no notice of them on either the Croker USA and Croker AUS websites. Like, you have to know a guy and maybe he'll fix you up .. for the right price.
