Matt Chase is a high school rowing coach from Westerville, Oh.  Matt became involved when his then high school-aged son expressed a desire to row.  The team his son joined was located some 45 minutes away, had only borrowed equipment,  and worked out on a cramped, crooked body of water.  Matt became involved with that nucleus of kids to start a team on a body of water only 1/2 mile from the high school.  His first post is about the trials and tribulations of starting a team, but one that culminates in placing in the Grand Finals of the 1997 USRA Youth National Championships.
