The full squad lists have been released. The Oxford men look the stronger with a couple of senior GB internationals (Harry Glenister and Lennie Jenkins) plus a number of graduates from US Unis. On the women’s side the squads looked ok fairly even, neither squad has any senior internationals with Cambridge having the sole U23 World Champion (Megan Lee)

Tough conditions for the Cambridge Trial 8’s today. One of the Lightweight boats sank and those that did manage to race found it very hard going (winning time in the women’s race was over 23 minutes

Catching up on the video replay of the fixtures

Very good video quality and fantastic weather and conditions

Men- definitely steering off in the Dutch 8and then the crab was payment in the first piece. Very easy for Cambridge

Women - Oxford Brooks were very impressive and technically in the first piece , Oxford women put it together for the final piece

Looked very smooth. Looking forward to seeing Oxford, on paper they have a stronger squad.

Oxford have just announced the line-up for the top men's boat ahead of some unofficial races this weekend

Cox: Will Denegri (U23 World Champion)
Stroke: Harry Glenister (member of the senior GB team from 2018-2022)
7: Lenny Jenkins (U23 World Champion and rowed in the GB M4- that won World Cup 1 in 2022)
6: Fred Roper (Cal 2V)
5: Jelmer Bennema (Princeton 2V)
4: James Doran (won the Ladies Plate with Brookes and rowed in the GB U23 M8 at the European Championships)
3: Freddy Orpin (European U23 silver medallist)
2: Eliott Kemp (Cal 1V)
Bow: Saxon Stacey (Junior World Champion)

Looks to be a pretty solid line-up and on paper I reckon it's stronger than the Light Blues.

Oxford men took on Leander today….turned into a fairly meaningless fixture as the 2 crews couldn’t keep apart. After several clashes Leander got disqualified

The Cambridge men lost to Brookes by 1.5 lengths

On the women’s side Cambridge were beaten by Thames Rowing club by 1 foot

Leander far too aggressive early on for no reason. Don’t blame Oxford for not budging and giving some back.

Such a waste of time and effort for all to have a crew disqualified.
