I tend to question that “we” may be overthinking this a smidge.

I hope this is the case
But anyone remember waaaaay back to the last comms snafu in January 2022?

"USRowing's new policy requires all individual athletes, coaches, teams, to book their hotel rooms through USRowing's "tournament housing service" portal as a requirement of participation in USRowing owned events. "
USRowing needs to improve communication.

Ironic that we would be overthinking a policy that seemed to have had no thinking behind it. There are much better ways to address a boundary-violating, predatory donor situation.

Tbh there has been many a “I donated and asked a few of you to come to breakfast with me and so I could talk rowing with someone and you feel obligated to go because I gave money” situations. Overall though, yes, probably better ways to mitigate than no contact at all.

Part of the job of being a national team athlete is to smooze with donors and be present at gatherings.
I'm sorry if you feel put out but with the scattering of athletes, the ones whom picked big rowing areas to train in will be called more often or the others will have to travel.
Tthat is the realities of a system of hands to mouth funding.

Link to Supporter Policy is gone. Does it still exist or was it deleted?
