Re: 2022 Season
Feel like there are a bunch of returning Olympians missing from both boats (Williamson, Lopas and Gulin for Yale IIRC, and I think Van Dorp for UW still hasn’t graduated?). No doubt taking a well deserved break after Tokyo but also means the program will look very different in the spring.

Wow. With some really rough back of the napkin math Yale's 23 second victory means they beat Washington by more than 100 meters. Anomaly? Head of the Charles will be an interesting rematch.

Re: 2022 Season
Yale appears to be playing chess as the rest of the field plays checkers. Winning by that margin over a Washington boat that had 7 athletes in it from their 2021 IRA champion V8, all while not having any of their 3 returning Olympians and with 4 freshman aboard is incredibly impressive. Van Drop helps UW when he returns, but it won't be enough to catch the Bulldogs in spring 2022. Places 2-6 should be fun to watch!

I want to see Harvard vs Yale at the Charles ….Clark Dean back sitting in stroke seat of the Harvard hull
Re: 2022 Season
Might be worth noting that Yale has been in class for six weeks, while UW has only been back on campus for two.
But wouldn’t want to let that get in the way of deciding the whole season on a single Fall race. Carry on.

Re: 2022 Season
So Washington is doing 2 cross-country trips in October for fall racing during a pandemic? I guess if you got the money you have spend it somehow.
UW always has less time in boats before racing at the Charles and yet the Charles results still end being a good predictor for the spring. I am also interested in seeing what Dean can do for Harvard this fall/spring.samtaylor wrote:Might be worth noting that Yale has been in class for six weeks, while UW has only been back on campus for two.

Re: 2022 Season
More interested to see what Dartmouth can put together this season. They return 5 from the the top 2 boats but had good depth to build on as well.
Re: 2022 Season
BU and NU get a ton of talent back in as well.
Re: 2022 Season
Does any know the results the of BU and Dartmouth scrimmage from this past weekend ?
Re: 2022 Season
There are 12 college 8's in the HOCR Champ 8 event and it will be interesting to see how things shake-out. With the depth of Yale and the first spot, I have to assume the Eli will take the race. Behind them I would go: 2. Harvard, 3. Washington, 4. Dartmouth, 5. NE, 6. Brown, 7. BU, 8 Princeton, 9. Syracuse, 10. Navy, 11. Wisco, and 12. Penn. It will also be interesting to see if the 2V from Yale, Harvard, UW, or Brown end up. My guess is that the top 2V makes the top 6.
