2022 SDCC Copley Cup/Cal Cup combined heats

Post by Rush N. Hang »

Anyone know what is happening with the SDCC Copley Cup?

There are only 2 entries, UCSD and Nereus.

On the Saturday schedule there are 3 heats for the “Mens Varsity Copley and Active&Fit™ Now Cal Cup”

How many boats will be in Copley Cup final?

There are 14 boats in the Active&Fit™ Now Cal Cup but only a grand and petite for them on Sunday.

Anyone?

I believe the top 2 in the heats will be in the Copley Cup final, 3rd snd 4th from the heats will be in the Cal Cup grands, and the remaining boats from the heats will be in the Cal Cup petites.

The top 2 from the heats go to Cal Cup Final.

3 and 4 go to Copley Cup slot

5 and 6 to Cal Cup petite

UCSD and Nereus may never race each other.

did someone just fail to rename the copely time slot on the schedule? they aren't going to award a tryophy to one of those crews.

A bit shocked they’re prioritizing the Cal Cup final over the Copley Cup final.

Based on the progression I think someone just mixed up the names on events 85 and 90. Even though this is a USRowing event, I don't think they intended to award the Copley Cup to a crew that registered for the Cal Cup AND finished 3rd or 4th in its heat.

Let’s hope you’re right on that one. Although, there does seem to be some mistakes on the progression of the women’s events too. If you look at the 2V and V4 events, there’s no place listed in either final for the 4th place crews from the heats.
