But to be honest who in their right mind schedules a major 2K regatta at Holme Pierrpoint (or indeed any multi-lane course) in mid-October!!

Well, it'll be fair at least. IME it's only the first 500 that is really bad in windy conditions. After that it's merely "Tidewayesque".

But the conditions at the World Coastals look much flatter then we're likely to get in the UK this weekend.

Nov 8-10 in Welland, Ontario. Same place they are holding the PanAm Games regatta next summer.
Southern Ontario is usually cold and windy in November.
I feel sorry for the kids at our club training for the nats right now.
