How are coxswains selected for the u23 team?

Postby BlindCoxswain on Tue Nov 08, 2011 8:13 pm

I understand that I can go to the USrowing site and it will tell me when speed order dates are and all that jazz, but I am a freshman on a smaller rowing team. I coxed at the 2011 junior worlds, but I want to know what the next step is. Are my chances pretty hurt because I am not at a UW or Cal or Harvard like rowing school?

Yea, pretty much. I coxed 2008 Jr Worlds and the only way to get into U23 is by knowing someone. Recommendations are key. I would be doing it this year, but unfortunately weight is an issue for me right now
