Re: Lucerne World Cup
So many great stories to be told here. Team USA debuts (including Michelle and Molly getting their first crack at GB this season), French M2x back and going up against the Dutch, stacked Australian M8+ and new look four, NZ with Gowler/Williams sisters back together… if nothing else I’m taking the A...

Re: Spring 2024
Gotta be ‘06 which was their last undefeated regular season. Won sprints, second behind Cal at IRAs.

Re: Spring 2024
From the video on Yale instagram, 1V margin did not look close. Even more impressive given how fast times were.
Penn only 1.6” behind Harvard. I’m impressed with them this season so far.

Re: Spring 2024
Very curious to see how the polls shake out after today. Two possibilities: Princeton’s victory over Harvard puts them at number one, or (I suspect more likely) is taken as proof that Harvard beating UW was an outlier and UW’s dominance over Cal gets them the nod. NU vs Harvard and later Princeton v...

Re: World Cup 1
Crossy isn’t perfect but I think his combination of expertise and enthusiasm is unmatched, even amongst his co commentators. Compared to some of his stateside counterparts or even some of his British predecessors (particularly Herbert or Topolski, may he rest in peace)… well there’s really no compar...

Re: World Cup 1
Oh Fats, I love how when the GB M4- loses in a prelim race it’s “I expect the final to be different” but when it’s anyone else it’s “big questions for the Sinkovics”.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m also curious to see how this works out… but c’mon.

Re: US Squad and Racing
Peter Quinton Evan Olsen Peter Chatain Chris Carlson Clark Dean Christian Tabash Nick Rusher Henry Hollingsworth To FQR as of now. Very surprising to see Tabash in (hasn’t really set the domestic scene on fire) and Bub out (good pair results as above). Hedge/Carlson have rowed the pair a lot so may...

Re: Olympics 2024
Might be a matter of style. So many victories with Hill stroking came down to them overrating the $h!t out of the field and having the technique to get away with it (less true the last two years). That may not work with the eight they’ve assembled.

They announced they were prioritizing (sorry, “prioritising”) the eight in their press release.flat drive wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 5:41 pm Also, not sure it is accurate to describe the eight as the priority as Hill/Hamilton is the top pair

Can (and should) we feel bad for them? Absolutely. But they would be “losing” something they arguably never truly earned in the first place.

Re: Olympics 2024
Australian team announced with some very interesting moves. Eight is the priority and almost the entire Olympic champion M4- have been moved in there... except Alex Hill who's in the four with guys from last year's eight and pair.
