Re: Coaching Carousel 2023
I don't think Cupini's salary is outrageous, but I do wonder why the Tennessee AD didn't think that Lisa Glenn couldn't have produced similar results with a bigger staff and better coaching salaries. Doesn't seem like a fair comparison. Glenn wasn’t capable and was too volatile. A lot of coaches co...

Re: Fall 2023 / Spring 2024
Well we have a new number 1 with Texas beating Stanford. I won’t read into the times too much because I heard it was a shorter course.
Will be interesting to watch Cal and Stanford next weekend to get a better comparison of places 1-6.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2023
Hearing about some mid-season movement at a certain larger profile program.
Another at the season’s close.
Could be another wild carousel season.

Side note: Calling a website “Overnght” is an SEO nightmare.
At least the platform “DAZN” for example, is so much different than any word that it works.

I think ‘cuse has UVA. Just comparing times.
UVA will likely grab an at large bid though.

Re: Fall 2023 / Spring 2024
No. 2 Texas will host the Longhorn Invite on Saturday, April 27 at Lake Walter E. Long. The Longhorns will welcome top-ranked and defending national champion Stanford, No. 11 Virginia and No. 12 Ohio State to Austin. The four programs have combined to win nine of the last 14 NCAA championships. Def...

Re: Fall 2023 / Spring 2024
Cal sweeping UW was a big weekend for them.
My top 6 for an NCAA 1v final if it were tomorrow. Based on times and observations
1. Texas (50/50 on whether Stanford should be here)
2. Stanford
3. Cal
4. Princeton
5. UW (who knows here)
6. Tennessee
Honorable mention 7: Brown

Brown 9 seconds over Dartmouth. Dartmouth won the 2v though. Interesting.

Re: Spring 2024
Very nice production. All too often the commentary is akin to a conversation between two people who are watching paint drying. I’m hearing that this weekend still. Missing the start, not calling a finish, and no energy. Glad to see the standard starting to be raised a bit and in the right direction....

Re: US Squad and Racing
What a piece by Bub/Bender. Well paced early and turned in on in the back half. Reminiscent of Kiwi 2- race strategies (not saying they're the same pedigree as the GOATs). So, is Mike Teti going to be named a USRowing Olympic team rowing coach? There’s an active effort right now to keep any CRC coa...

Filippi “Performance Configuration”
I haven’t seen any discussion about this yet so I thought I would start a thread: https://www.filippiboats.com/eng/innovation/performance-configuration This is not an endorsement. Filippi’s touted improvements generally: more carbon into the hull by focusing on eliminating hardware and other compone...

Re: Fall 2023 / Spring 2024
Weekend observations: Texas smoked that final at SDCC. Wondering how Cal would have faired in lane 1 or 2 if that mattered. The heat was very close. Cal 1v is pretty stacked, looking forward to seeing them race Yale, UVA, and Syracuse this weekend. That will give us a good comparison of east and wes...
