I believe he did post something to that effect, though not effective immediately, as he takes on the role of a spare.

Re: US Squad and Racing
Gotta love the women’s pair. Kalmoe/Eiser and 6 pairs to be named later. Hope things work out for Bub/Bender in the M2-. Would be amazing to see Fellows go from spare to the single in a year. Are Heese / McCullough one of the players to be named on 4/4? Davison/Koszyk seem to have scared the competi...

Re: US Squad and Racing
Also looks like Bruggeman and Salmons have made some boat (according to their IG accounts). Anyone else think USRowing is really dropping the PR ball? The light double and spare also did their own IG announcements.

Re: US Squad and Racing
And I am sure that the return of the reigning Olympic champions will not change things one bit in the M2-. Look, I agree that the surest way for the next fastest pair not in the four to get to Paris is to go to 2- trials, we are just going to have to disagree on their medal chances versus an eight w...

Re: US Squad and Racing
The 3 fastest squad pair is currently about 1.7 seconds faster than the pair that actually raced at Worlds in 2023. And that field didn't include the Sinkovic brothers.

Re: US Squad and Racing
The only priority that makes sense is to prioritize the boats that are already qualified. That is the 4- and the 2-. (I'm only talking about the men's sweep squad here). You select these two boats and then you select the eight. You don't select an unqualified boat before knowing who is in the quali...

Re: US Squad and Racing
It will be interesting to see who shows up in the pair, which will be reflective of what's being prioritized. Given the depth of field in the pair internationally, I suspect they will prioritize the eight, but only time will tell. In the meanwhile, good luck to all still in selection!

Re: US Squad and Racing
Not just guys in singles. How about all the guys trialing in the pair and doubles? The old saying goes United we stand, divided we fall. We've been constantly dividing the talent on the men's side. I thought USRowing had found wisdom by not making the men's eight a trials event so that they could p...

But in the meanwhile, Russia will get to send their athletes to the 2024 Olympics, and they will of course be clean as a whistle.

Re: USA Lightweight Women Continuing into 2024
Audrianna Boersen is currently the 6th fastest sculler (open or lw) in the country. Are you still saying is worthy of collective ridicule? No, she's the 6th fastest sculler at the fall speed order, which did not include (because they were not required to attend) the W1x, the W2x, and 1/2 the W4x, (...

But Stewie, how will they spend their lottery money if they can't have super secret bow shapes? Must they simply rely on their stock of fully-funded full time athletes?Stewie Griffin Should Cox wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 11:48 am One boat shape, one cost, level playing field. Re: US Squad and Racing
You really need to read the selection procedures. In 2023, invitations to camp were based on the winter speed order, not NSRII. CRC had no reason to empty the boathouse for NSRII.
